Mike Devries didn't have to look far to discover his passion for golf-course design – it was right in his backyard. Growing up in western Michigan, he spent summers working at the famed Crystal Downs Country Club, one of Alister Mackenzie's masterpieces. He soon found his calling, understudying under Tom Doak and Tom Fazio before going out on his own. Today, his company has five designs and numerous remodeling projects to its credit.

As you play the Golf Club of Dublin you will notice the rectangular tee boxes, eighteen hundred feet of hand stacked stone walls from the Irish countryside, over seventy hand stacked sod wall bunkers positioned precariously throughout the course, seventeen holes with water, and fairways so wide even the most novice golfers will find. The details continue with the six foot flag sticks, nineteenth century bag stands from the eighteen hundreds on every tee, and many more authentic touches of British Golf.
The clubhouse features "Old Tom's Golf Shop" a fully stocked golf shop, the "Claret Jug", a bar and pub, and the Dublin and Ballantrae banquet and meeting rooms, which will hold from 50 to over 200 people. Golf Club of Dublin also offers day lockers and shower facilities for your convenience.
The Golf Club of Dublin offers many opportunities to the golfing community of central Ohio. We offer availability but not limited to tee times, golf outings, corporate events, meeting space, weddings, banquets and parties.
We hope you will join the Golf Club of Dublin in your next event and see why we have become an "Award Winning Facility"

Many people have built golf courses but the saga of Hickory Hills is a bit different than most. This wasn’t the case of some famous golfer, mega corporation or even a billionaire creating their "dream" course. No in this case, it was even more complex and difficult.
For Hickory Hills was built by thirteen "regular guys", the Founders, who wanted to build their dream course.
There was a lawyer, a dentist, an accountant, a printer...well, you get the idea. Their idea was borne from a love of golf and the desire to create a "Golf Club For Golfers."
Imagine getting thirteen people to agree on anything let alone thirteen golf fanatics to agree on the location, financing, architect and construction of "their" course. But agree they did and the result is one of the finest courses in a community known for its golf course architecture.
And speaking of architecture, perhaps it was the architect who was able to keep the thirteen founders together during the years that it took to build the course. Jack Kidwell was the President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in 1979. It was the same year that Hickory Hills held its dedication ceremony. In these days of "name" architects such as Fazio, Dye, Jones, Palmer, Nicklaus and others it is easy to overlook this extremely talented and creative man. But as a life member of the PGA, golf course owner and designer of more than 50 courses which have been roundly praised for their creativity, the work of Jack Kidwell stands with the best.
And it was ultimately to him that the "thirteen" turned to complete their vision...and what a vision it was.
