A lifelong resident of Columbus, he graduated from Dartmouth College with honors in 1955. He earned the CPCU degree from the American Institute of Property and Liability Underwriters in 1964. Alan served on the Board of Directors of Cincinnati Financial Corporation and Cincinnati Insurance Company from 1990 to 2002, and is now a Director Emeriti. He is presently on the Board of Directors of ProCentury Corporation, (Century Surety Company), an excess and surplus lines insurer, and on the Board of Trustees of Glimcher Realty Trust, a New York Stock Exchange Real Estate Investment Trust. He has served as director and officer of the Insurance Board of Columbus, President of Central Ohio Lung Association and President of the Columbus Speech & Hearing Center. Alan is active in numerous civic, service, and religious organizations.rnrnSTEVEN M. WEILER, CPCU, CIC - Co-Chairman, Business SpecialistrnSteve joined the agency in 1989 following graduation from the Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Business. In 1997 Steve completed the 10 parts of the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters program to earn his CPCU designation, and in 1998, he earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation. He is a 1995 Graduate of Leadership Columbus and his community involvement includes board positions with The Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, the Capital Area Humane Society, German Village Business League, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association. Steve has also served on the program advisory council for WCBE 90.5 FM.rnrnJOHN R. NAVE, CPCU, CLU, AIM, - President, Business SpecialistrnJohn graduated from Wittenburg University in 1983 with a degree in Business Administration and Economics, and began his insurance career the same year. He joined Archer-Meek-Weiler in 2001. He is a member of the CPCU Society and has served on the board of directors of the Associated Risk Managers of Ohio.rnrnCHARLES D. SCHAEFER, CPCU - Vice President, Business SpecialistrnCharles has been actively engaged in the insurance profession since 1966 and joined Archer- Meek-Weiler in 1971. He is a graduate of Columbus Academy and The Ohio State University. He received the CPCU designation in 1975. He has served on the Education Committee of the Ohio Association of Insurance Agents and on various committees of the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Columbus. Charles is a member of the technical committee of the Insurance Services Office. He has served as speaker on environmental issues for CLE International. He also serves on the board of Associated Risk Managers International.rnrnHARRY J. BOUND, CPCU, CRM, CIC, Vice President - Business SpecialistrnHarry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenburg University in 1970. After graduation, he entered the insurance field. He joined Archer-Meek-Weiler in 1979. He earned his CPCU degree from the American Institute of Property & Liability Underwriters in 1984, his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1997, and most recently in 2003, received his Certified Risk Manger designation. He is a member of the Builders Exchange and the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. He has served on the board of directors and the Legislative committee of the Ohio Professional Insurance Agents Association, and has served as a guest instructor in Bonding at Columbus State University. Harry specializes in Risk Management and Surety.rnrnDONALD P. VANORDER - Vice President, Business SpecialistrnDon has been in the insurance profession since 1971 and has been with Archer-Meek- Weiler since 1982. A native of Columbus, he graduated from Franklin University with BS degrees in Marketing and Real Estate. He concentrates on corporate insurance programs in the manufacturing, service and industrial areas.rnrnJEFFREY P. SONDLES, CIC - Vice President, Business SpecialistrnJeff is an Ohio State University graduate with a BA in Humanities. He entered the insurance profession in 1982 and joined Archer-Meek- Weiler in 1990. He earned is Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 2003 and is currently pursuing his CPCU designation. Jeff is active in several industry associations including the Builders Exchange, Construction Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Architects, the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio, and the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association.rnrnCHRISTOPHER D. SIPES - Business SpecialistrnChris graduated from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State Universtity with a BS in Bausiness Administration and a concentration in Finance. In 2007 he completed studies to obtain his Certified Insurance Counselor designation. He is active in the Rotary, Builders Exchange, the Ohio State Alumni Association and the Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association.rnrnJUSTIN P. VANORDER - Business SpecialistrnJustin joined Archer-Meek-Weiler in 2003. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a BA in Marketing and minors in Finance and Economics. He is currently working toward the completion of his CPCU designation. Justin is active in the Northwest Special Olympics and a number of industry associations.rnrnMARK T. HORSTMAN, RHU - Employee Benefits SpecialistrnMark began his insurance career in 1983 after earning his BS in Business Administration from the Ohio State University. He joined Archer-Meek-Weiler in 2004. He has held his Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation since 1994. He is a member of the Columbus Association of Health Underwriters and is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus. Mark specializes in life and health related coverages and has extensive experience with alternate funded and consumer driven health insurance plans for large employer groups.rnrnJAMES M. SUSSEX, CIC, AAI - Vice President, Ohio Group Workers Compensation AdministratorrnJim started his insurance career in 1974 and has been with the Archer- Meek-Weiler since September 1994. He holds an MBA with honors from Capital University in Columbus, and a BS in Business Management with honors from Franklin University. His background is in insurance personnel recruiting, operations management and sales management. He received his Accredited Adviser in Insurance designation in 1982, his Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1994, and is currently completing requirements toward the CPCU designation.rn
