Marburn Academy
Marburn Academy was founded in 1981 by a group of visionary parents, educators, and civic leaders who saw our community's need for a school that would provide effective instruction for bright children whose learning differences prevented them from succeeding in traditional school programs. Marburn Academy serves students with average to superior intelligence who have been unable to learn in their previous schools due to difficulties often diagnosed as learning disabilities.Middle School studentsThe school serves students from approximately 25 Central Ohio communities in primary through high school grades with a staff of highly trained teachers, specialists, and professionals. Location The school is located three blocks from Rte. 161 in northeast Columbus at 1860 Walden Drive, in the former Walden Elementary building. Now beginning its twenty-sixth year, Marburn Academy has provided the means for over 1,400 young people to transform school from an experience of failure and defeat to one of success and hope. In addition, tens of thousands of students in other schools have benefited from the training their teachers have received through Marburn’s outreach programs.
