Columbus FiberNet
By the end of 2001, high-speed data users outside of I-270 will be connected to downtown Columbus and be offered a variety of new service providers through Columbus FiberNet (CFN). Similar to the I-270 outer belt, CFN is a 20-lane information superhighway around Columbus providing network service providers with connectivity to the Top 150 commercial broadband customers. The CFN duct system consists of 70 miles of twenty 1ВЅ innerducts connecting the downtown commercial business district with the high tech business parks in Dublin, Worthington, Westerville, Polaris, Gahanna, Easton, and Hilliard. CFN's broadband infrastructure is a technology asset for the City of Columbus to attract high tech companies and spur economic development.
