Our congregation has been a voice for liberal religion in Columbus for six decades. It is a place where people on a variety of spiritual paths come together to grow in religious depth and to learn about and embody their faithfulness in the world. The heart of the various covenants that have bound Unitarian and Universalist congregations together for over 400 years rests on the great words: freedom, reason, tolerance, and unconditional love.

A party atmosphere will prevail with live and recorded music, your requests, and non-stop folk dancing on a wooden dance floor. We do folk dances from the Balkan countries, including Bulgaria, Macedonia, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, and Albania. We also do some dances from nearby Armenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, and sometimes Israel, Sweden, and Denmark, which are far away, but have fun dances.
Each party has a theme. Feel free to dress according to the theme, or just come as you are. We'll also be teaching dances occasionally and spontaneously during the evening. If there's something you want taught

A family of Michigan football supporters leaves home one fall morning to do some shopping. At a sports shop, the son picks up an Ohio State jersey and says to his older sister, "Sis, I've decided to become a Buckeye fan and I'd like this for Christmas." His big sister is outraged at this, whacks him on the head and says, "Go talk to mother." With the Ohio State jersey in hand, the boy approaches his mother. "Mom, I've decided I'm going to become a Buckeye fan and I'd like this jersey for Christmas." His mother is outraged at this, whacks him on the head and says, "Go talk to your father!" With the Ohio State Jersey in hand, the boy approaches his father. "Dad, I've decided I'm going to become a Buckeye fan and I'd like this jersey for Christmas." His father is outraged at this, whacks him on the head and says, "No son of mine is ever going to be seen in an Ohio State jersey!" Later in the day, they're all back in the car and heading home. The father turns to his son and says, "Son, I hope you learned something today." The son says, "Yes, Dad, I sure did." His father responds, "Good, son, what was it?" The son replies, "Well, I've only been an Buckeye fan for a few hours and I already hate you Michigan jerks."
